Michael Boling

Mike has played a pivotal role in laying groundwork for significant changes throughout the Los Angeles County jail system, focusing on improving accommodations inmates with disabilities receive while incarcerated. Having presented at numerous national conferences, and being published in American Jails Magazine, he has become a subject matter expert (SME) in Title II compliance under ADA.

His unique ability to effectively address complex concerns while providing logical, feasible, and sustainable solutions for law enforcement and correctional agencies is unprecedented. Advocacy organizations law enforcement and correctional agencies nationwide recognize his abilities, experience, and accomplishments while supporting his efforts in being second to none in addressing what has come to be one of the most complex and litigated areas in law enforcement and corrections today.

Michael (Mike) Boling joined the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department (LASD) in May 2006. Since then, has been actively involved in educating other law enforcement officers nationwide about disability awareness and the importance of accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

He has served as the primary instructor for the physical disabilities portion of Learning Domain (LD) 37- “People with Disabilities” for more than 100 LASD academy classes. Mike has successfully served as the ADA Coordinator for the largest jail system in America for several years, and has mentored many new coordinators for other agencies who are also adopting the method.
